Learn more about working in ABC and why Which? is a great place to work and progress your career.
The majority of my work consists of working on insight projects for commercial teams. These projects are interesting analyses that can either be ongoing or one-off pieces of work centred around either business to business insights, business to consumer insights or insights to support other key objectives of Which? In addition to these larger insight projects, I work on smaller data requests and support the maintenance of various dashboards that commercial teams use for their BAU reporting. Majority of the analysis and reporting is done in SAS and Tableau.
Public Health to Commercial Analytics seems like a big switch. However, both involve analysing data, both are aimed at getting the most accurate insights to support business decisions, both with the ultimate goal of protecting people.
I love how there is a variety of work in this role. From small data requests to larger insight projects and across different areas of the business which means that I'm not just working on one thing for weeks on end. The work that our team does is also really valued by the commercial and marketing teams across Which? I am motivated by work where I can see there is going to be a positive impact and with a team of people who share the same values.
A lot of my work in data analytics has had direct real-life impacts. When I was in Australia I provided on-the-ground data insights to a small community during the COVID-19 pandemic to help manage spread of COVID-19 and prevent inundation of healthcare services.
Never be afraid to ask questions.
You always hear everyone say there is no such thing as a stupid question but sometimes we don't believe it. I always find if I don't fully understand something it always helps to try and form a question that I'm trying to answer and write it down. Particularly in my role as a Lead Analyst, the insight and analyses are usually answers to questions and without a question, it's hard to come up with the answer.
I've been at Which? since May 2022, based in London, and one of the key benefits for me is the office, it's location and the workplace culture. I go into the office once a week on our team day. We get access to breakfast, complimentary fruit, and tea and coffee. The office is in a beautiful building and has a lovely rooftop you can sit at. The London office is at Regents Park so I love walking around the gardens on my lunch break. Which? had also organised a really fun party off-site this Summer. Having a friendly work environment and working in such a nice space is a key perk for me and makes working in the office something I look forward to.
