This role offers a competitive salary, hybrid working (London, 1-2 days a week in the office, to include Tuesdays and some Thursdays/ad hoc as required), 28 days holiday a year plus Bank Holidays and a fantastic pension scheme offering 6% in year one and 11% after this.

This is a fixed-term role for 12 months. There may be potential in the future for the role to be extended or become permanent, dependent on your performance and suitability, as well as the business needs.

Salary 38,000 – 48,000 per annum

 About the role

We're searching for an outstanding content editor to lead on developing, commissioning and editing advice, reviews and investigative features on food and health topics across Which.co.uk and Which? magazine.

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Managing our portfolio of food and health digital content spanning diverse topics from how to buy the best hearing aid to identifying the best tasting champagne.
  • Commissioning new and updated content on food and health topics for digital and print channels, from our large in-house team of writers and researchers.
  • Regularly interrogating performance data for digital content (SEO, traffic, e-commerce/affiliate journeys, subscriber volumes) and using insight to inform commissioning of new and optimised content.
  • Working proactively with the wider editorial team to  inform the overarching content strategy, forward content schedule and the smooth running of our Content department. 

About you:

Though there will be opportunities to commission for Which? magazine, day to day you'll work predominantly on digital reviews and advice content on Which.co.uk, so significant digital content experience is a must - from understanding how to interpret content performance data, to creating search and conversion-optimised content. Perhaps your background is a digital savvy journalist/editor, or you are an experienced content manager looking for a change of pace and emphasis. If your experience includes product and service reviews, even better.

  • Exceptional and proven commissioning, editing and writing skills.
  • Track record of successfully editing and commissioning high quality, high reach content for consumer audiences across digital channels (print experience also desirable)
  • Ability to inspire, organise and set clear direction for others. Excellent communication and influencing skills and the ability to develop positive relationships with key stakeholders
  • Passion, knowledge and enthusiasm for relevant consumer topics and able to demonstrate affinity with the Which? audience and mission.
  • A numerate, analytical mind with a sharp eye for detail.
