This role offers a competitive salary, hybrid working in the London office (2 days in the office per week), 28 days holiday a year plus Bank Holidays and 11% pension after one year of service.

Salary £28,000 - £34,000 per annum 

​This is a fixed-term role for 12 months starting on 1 July. There may be potential in the future for the role to be extended or become permanent, depending on your performance and suitability, as well as the business needs.

 About the role

This is a hands-on varied, and exciting role that requires you to produce robust product research and create well written, consumer focussed content. One day you could be designing a test to find the best hair straighteners, and the next you could be writing up the results of your latest pizza ovens test. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • You will work with the In-House Testing Teams Principal Researcher and Senior Editor to deliver a workstream of quick turnaround digital-first reviews and supporting promotional content. 
  • You will be involved in all aspects of the process, from designing the test programme to conducting the assessments and writing up your findings. This is a varied, hands-on role. So one day could see you selecting - and buying - hair straighteners for a panel test you're running while you may spend the next deciding the best way to test pizza ovens…
  • You will need to have a good understanding of different research techniques, from how to design a rigorous and repeatable test programme for almost any product, to the best way to conduct comparative analyses of products and services. 
  • You will be able to balance the need to produce quick results with the absolute requirement that sound research practices are followed.
  • As well as your good research skills, you'll also have a clear understanding of what consumers want to know and the best way to answer their questions. 
  • You will have good writing skills to enable you to produce a steady stream of topical, relevant and habit-forming content that will bring the ‘Which? Difference' to life.

  • Some knowledge of best practice research principles, and a willingness to learn new techniques
  • Good writing skills and a talent for turning complex information into clear, accessible language that's enjoyable to read
  • An ability to develop new and innovative working practices and approaches
  • Strong project management and delivery skills that enable you to run multiple projects at the same time and to produce content to tight deadlines
  • Excellent insight into consumer needs and desires, driven by a strong understanding of SEO, market intelligence and data analytics
  • You'll also need to be able to work fast, stay motivated under pressure and bring bags of enthusiasm to what you do!

  • A short writing task
