About the role
You'll be accountable for the vision, strategy, discovery and delivery of our mobile app Product squad, working with your Engineering and UCD counterparts. We see users' deeply personal connection with their mobile devices, and the trust they have in them around accessing their finances, as an important opportunity for Which? to enable consumers to take greater control of their lives. You will be focused on extending our MVP of “Life Admin”, our first foray into helping users understand the possibilities of open banking and how it can help them get better deals for key utilities. We've built the initial technical and regulatory capabilities to enable us to safely pilot with real users, and are now seeking to iterate towards product-market fit, through a series of controlled experiments.
As Which?, we want to help our users get the benefits of new technologies, and also use them to reduce consumer harm and live better. How can we help them get the best deal, as easily and regularly as possible? How can we help them with saving towards those important projects? And much more besides!
You'll balance user needs and business outcomes to create an evidence-based approach to helping our users - so that we can attract and retain subscribers, create new partnerships, increase revenues, and thereby continue to fund our important charitable work standing up for UK Consumers. This is a critical project towards our 2030 strategy, and the Senior Product Manager will need to take a lead on delivering the revenue impact as well as the user experience.
More generally, as a Senior Product Manager, you'll be working on some exciting problem areas, including exploring new product opportunities where there may be no clear solution - or maybe countless solutions to be reconciled. You may be working on a new problem using discovery techniques or leading a tiger team to solve a hot topic, while also keeping the majority of your squad working efficiently on their core work. You'll be creating a range of longer-term plans, and thinking about the evidence you - and your stakeholders - will need to help choose between them. You'll be building a long-standing, high-performing product team that can work on a range of different problems.
You may also be working with suppliers or partners, scoping work and setting up relationships for long-term success - without losing our ability to test and learn.
